Sarb Naujawan Sabha (Regd.) and Sarb Naujawan Welfare Society (Regd.) Phagwara in collaboration with Mai Bharat, Kapurthala and Forest Department Phagwara celebrated the Van Mahautsav under the title of Ek Buta Maa by planting saplings at the nearby village of Saprod under the leadership of the Sabha President Sukhwinder Singh. On this occasion, the chief guest was the constituency MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, while the special guest was the Congress City President Taranjit Singh Bunty Walia, Councilor, and social worker Madan Lal Korotania. MLA Dhaliwal and Bunty Walia inaugurated the campaign by planting different types of saplings. Congress City President Bunty Walia said that everyone will have to make a joint effort to make Punjab a colorful Punjab again. Emphasizing on the conservation of traditional trees like Bohar, Peepal, Kikar, Tahli etc., he said that only if there are trees, then there will be happiness in the lives of future generations. Otherwise, humanity will have to face major physical problems in the future. Social worker Madan Lal Corotania also spoke about making a joint effort for a colorful Punjab. He said that the depletion of groundwater in Punjab is taking this fertile state towards desertification, which should be stopped at all costs.
